Help and setup
Everything you need to get Deno running in your server.
Get started
- Add Deno to your server: in Yapin’ open Server settings, then Bots, and add Deno from the bot list.
- Give Deno’s role the permissions it needs: Kick, Ban, Timeout, Manage messages, Manage roles and Manage channels. Put its role above the roles it should manage.
- Log in to this dashboard with Yapin’, pick your server, and set a mod log channel and your staff roles under Moderation.
- Type /help in your server for the basics and useful links, /help all for every command, or browse them on the Commands page.
Who counts as a moderator?
The server owner is always an admin. Anyone whose Yapin’ role has Manage messages, Kick, Ban or Timeout counts as a moderator, and anyone with Administrator or Manage server counts as an admin. You can also name roles yourself under Moderation > Staff roles. Role changes can take up to a minute to apply.
A command does nothing or says I lack permission
- Check that you have a staff role, as above.
- Check that Deno’s own role has the permission for that action and sits above the member you are acting on.
- If an ignore list is set, regular members are skipped in ignored channels. Moderators never are.
Is Deno really free?
Yes. Every feature is on for everyone. There is no premium tier and no limit on tags, autoroles or reaction roles.
How do I turn off the welcome message?
Open Welcome in the dashboard and set the welcome channel to none, or type /config welcomechannel off.
Where is my data and how do I remove it?
See the Privacy Policy. Admins can clear warnings and notes with /warn clear and /note clear, and removing Deno from a server stops it reading that server.
